One interesting trouble call we were called out on was a sporting goods store in Mission.  It had an aluminum storefront, and sometimes people would get a shock when touching it. Approximately 85 volts was measured on the storefront to electrical ground.  This voltage was still present when the power to the store was shut off. At this time, I forced the issue and tied a wire to electrical ground and touched the storefront - sparks flew!  Then I held the wire on the storefront, and the lights in the next store came on. The neutral wire from the utility company had openned and the store was attempting to get a return path through the sporting goods store, which was mechanically connected.
